I hope you are reading this blog feeling renewed, replenished and excited about the possibilities ahead.
Did you rest this summer?
Did you do things and/or engage with people that filled your cup?
Regardless of your answer, it’s not too late and I encourage you to ease into this month and the season.
Yes this is easier said than done especially when everyone around you might already be ramped up and raring to go. However I imagine that with the return to old routines and starting of new routines, the question of where to begin may also be settling in.
September is a great time to pause and take stock of how you are feeling:
Where are you at with personal goals?
How are you doing and feeling about your work goals and impact?
Are you spending your time and energy on the things that are important to you and/or with the people that are important to you?
Are you cultivating and nurturing relationships with those that are near and dear to you?
You might also consider capturing your observations. My suggestion is that you not only have a conversation with yourself about 2023 so far, but that you document your thoughts, feelings, plans and progress. There is something powerful that happens when you put pen to paper or type, draw or animate your observations, a different part of your brain is activated and a deeper level of insight and feedback can emerge. There is also a correlation between the written word and increased commitment or conviction. You write something down and you are more likely to remember it and act on it.
I’ve been writing more these days, and capturing my personal and professional insights has revealed new opportunities, limiting beliefs and enabled me to focus on what really matters.
I’m going to continue to take stock, journal and take action.
Small steps. In the spirit of increasing my chances of success with my experiment. I’ll share that for the next 9 weeks I’m committing to writing for a minimum of 2.5 hours per week.
Wishing you a wonderful September!
